Ian Quigley, MBA, CFA

Senior Portfolio Manager
Ian has assisted business owners and executives with pension, investment and tax planning ideas since 2000. Ian holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA), as well as an honors degree in research and analysis (Science) from the University of Alberta.  Ian teaches part-time for a number of Provincial Institutes of Chartered Accountants and is the author of “Tax & Compensation Strategies,” published by Carswell in 2006. Ian has two daughters and has been married for over 25 years.

Noah Clarke, MA, CIM®

Associate Portfolio Manager

As a member of the Investment Counselling team at Qube, Noah works closely with clients and their professional advisors to deliver integrated financial planning. He can most often be found either buried in an excel spreadsheet or meeting with clients. Noah joined Qube in 2016 after completing his MA in Economics at the University of Ottawa. In 2019, he obtained his Certified Investment Manager designation from the Canadian Securities Institute.

Michael Baker, MBA, CIM®

Associate Portfolio Manager
Michael completed his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Alberta in 2018. His focus was on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, specifically how to grow businesses. Michael came to Qube after working for 4 years in operations and working in the non-profit sector. Michaels efforts at Qube are focused on clients relations.

Olesia Tsareva

Operations Manager
Olesia is a recent graduate from the University of Alberta School of Business. Her focus is on the operations of Qube and ensuring that the corporation functions in accordance with its business plan. Olesia is currently working towards obtaining her CPHR designation and plans to pursue a Masters of Business Administration in the coming years. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, hot yoga, as well as travelling and exploring new destinations.

Patrick Choi, CFA

Portfolio Manager
Patrick is a graduate from the University of Alberta’s business school and is a CFA charter holder. Patrick is currently registered as an Associate Portfolio Manager at Qube and has been working for the past 8 years on our team as an equity analyst and trader. Prior to joining Qube, Patrick worked as a trader in the discount brokerage division at TD Waterhouse for 5 years.

Sarah Anderson

Associate Portfolio Manager
Sarah is a graduate of MacEwan University with a major in Accounting and minor in Finance. She came to Qube in 2019 to launch the new Social Impact Fund and now works mainly in client services, fixed income trading, and marketing management. Sarah has grown up in the theatre arts community of Edmonton and–following a brief stint at musical theatre school– remains active in the community. She has her Level Il CFA and is enrolled to write her Level IlI in November, 2021.

Brenda Wilber

Insurance Administration Coordinator
Brenda headlines insurance administration on a part-time basis and also pitches in wherever a need arises. She is a great believer in life-long learning and has plans for further formal education. Brenda enjoys reading widely, and loves spending quality time with family and friends

Nicole Gervais

Client Relations Coordinator
Nicole came to Qube in 2011 with 15-years industry experience in investment account administration and service. Nicole is a valued team member, keeping our accounts in order and assisting new clients during their transition to Qube. Investment administration is a specialized and technical trade, and we are fortunate to have the skills of Nicole on our team.

Karlen Daschuk

Investment Administrator
Karlen earned his degree from the University of Alberta’s School of Business in 2020 with a focus in Operations Management and Sustainable Investing. In addition to working as an Investment Administrator at Qube, Karlen is pursuing his CFA designation, passing his first level in February of 2021. In his free time, he enjoys reading, creative writing, podcasts and cooking.

Nick Riemer, CIM®

Sr. Student Equity Analyst
Nick is currently going into his fourth year at the University of Alberta in the Bachelor of Commerce program with a major in Finance. Nick joined Qube part-time in September 2018 and has completed his CSC & IMT since his employment. Previously, Nick was a Canadian Freestyle skiing athlete and spent 2 years coaching the Edmonton Freestyle Ski Team (2016-2018).

Austin Glenn

Sr. Student Equity Analyst

Austin is going into his fifth year of finance at Mount Royal University minoring in accounting. He joined Qube in May 2019, and is currently working towards his CIM, with plans to pursue a CFA upon graduation. Prior to joining Qube’s team, he worked as a client advisor with RBC while in school. Previously, Austin was heavily involved in competitive athletics playing Jr. A Hockey in the AJHL and SJHL. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and challenging himself to learning new things.

Daniel Semenjuk

Jr. Student Equity Analyst
​Daniel is a fourth year Finance student at the University of Alberta. He recently finished his CSC and is planning to pursue both the CIM and CFA designation. Outside of Qube, Daniel is passionate about contributing to the community. He volunteers for various non-for-profit organizations; he helps manage their finances, investments, and fundraisers.

Wyatt Lynds

Jr. Student Equity Analyst
Wyatt is currently enrolled in his fifth year at the University of Alberta in the Bachelor of Commerce Program, with a major in Finance and a minor in Computing Science. Wyatt is currently a member of the Edmonton Collegiate Baseball Club. Prior to joining Qube, he worked as an intern at Raymond James Ltd. Wyatt plans on pursuing his CFA designation after graduation.

Nathaniel McNalley

Jr. Student Equity Analyst
Nathaniel is currently enrolled in his fourth year at the University of Alberta pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Finance. He is currently completing the Canadian Securities Course and intends to further pursue the CIM and CFA designations in the coming years. Nathaniel enjoys spending his free time cooking, baking, camping, and hiking in the Kananaskis County region of Alberta.
